WAVES is made up of a number of amazing individuals who have brought the organization to where it is today. One such person is Kevin Fitzpatrick. To list here all the contributions Kevin has made to WAVES over the years would be an act of futility; there’s just too many. Some of his most awesome accomplishments include:
- Original Website. Kevin was the first webmaster. Because WAVES needed a website, he taught himself how to write php code and created it. Investing many hours and learning from the kind folks at Big Wave Design and Human Clock, he headed the WAVES web presence for over three years.
- Getting Things Done in Peru. As Director of Operations based in Lima, Kevin made sure things were running smoothly in Peru – whether it be at awareness and fundraising events, rallying a team of interns, running errands, or meeting with lawyers and accountants, he got things done — all for little or no pay.
Recently married (congratulations!), Kevin has just left Peru. While he will be missed, we’re excited for all that’s in store for him and his wife in the next stage of their lives as they transition to life in Africa. WAVES is lucky that Kevin will remain on the WAVES Board of Directors as he epitomizes the tireless and selfless commitment that has led to WAVES’ success thus far. Mad props. And much thanks, Kev!
