This past Monday 23 of July, 12; in the Municipality event Hall of Lobitos, in Nuevo Lobitos, was held the press conference for the Movistar Women’s Pro, a six star event from the ASP Women’s World Star Event Tour starting July 24 to the 28 of July in the point break of Lobitos – Piura, Peru.
The conference presented the competitors that will be representing Peru, including on of WAVES for Development Team members, 14 year old Karen Periche Chavez, a local surfer from the Primavera neighborhood. During the conference Karen thanked WAVES for introducing her in to the sport that now she practices every day and is starting to open opportunities like this for her. Amongst other spoke persons, Sofia Mulanivich, 2004 ASP Women’s World Title Champion and Peru’s pride athlete, thanked the community of Lobitos for their support on the preparation for the event and also the day that she won the World Title, eight years ago in the same beach of Lobitos.
