WAVES is excited to announce the production of CAPTURE: A WAVES Documentary. The film will share how WAVES volunteers are enriching their lives and those of people in coastal communities of Peru through surfing and service.
As part of WAVES' plan to build a film and photography program, future volunteer Jeremy Koons has offered to share his passion and expertise to foster creativity, build confidence and develop skills that will be useful in the lives of local youth and potentially even earn them some money. During a two-week stint this March in Peru, Jeremy will launch a film and photography program. He'll take us through the experience by shooting before, during and after. The awareness and publicity created with this film and project will enrich lives and transform them.
To finance the project, WAVES has teamed up with kickstarter.com, a funding platform for creative projects and endeavors. Check out WAVES' kickstarter page to watch a video of the proposal and become one of the film's backers. Building on the success of the pifworld campaign the money raised here will bring the best team together possible to launch the film, purchase additional equipment, and sustain the local program into the future.
Roberto "Muelas" Meza named as WAVES Peru first Ambassador
December 11, 2009
Muelas has been a supporter of WAVES since it's inception. He has trained our main surf instructor Holggers, been a source of advice and inspiration for us. The inauguration was an opportunity to recognize his contributions and formalize our mutually beneficial agreement going forward.
